This sweet bride had traveled the world, and after experiencing cathedrals, cafes and some of the charming alleyways of Europe she fell in love again - this time with the combination of the Basilica of St. Mary and Loring Social in Minneapolis!
August 3 dawned as a perfect Minnesota day: clear blue sky and a sunny 75 degrees. After a beautiful ceremony in front of 200 guests, everyone gathered on the steps of the Basilica for pictures and to hear the bells peal in honor of the bride & groom!
Meanwhile, just a stone's throw away from the church, we had been busy bees at Loring Social - steaming linens, setting out dozens of candles and working with the catering staff and florist to make sure every detail was perfect. The groom's family friend arranged the flowers in our gorgeous mercury glass compotes and other vases. Table numbers were hand-painted by a friend of the bride. We generously scattered large and small candle holders around to create lots of romantic candlelight.
A live band is always a hit at weddings, and this one was no exception! However, as they were setting up their equipment we realized they would need much more space than the caterers had alotted on their floor plan. We made the call to move the entire head table away after dinner. It was a great move, because this group of young guests danced well into the wee hours!
A sparkler sendoff in that European-esque alley was a must, and provided some terrific pictures to cap off a magical day!
