When the bride's favorite movie is "Breakfast at Tiffany's," it's not hard to decide on the theme of her bridal shower! The challenge was finding a venue that was neutral and classic enough to support the Tiffany blue-green decorations. We visited numerous restaurants and clubs and finally settled on the timeless Interlachen Country Club. The ivory and brown scheme of their redecorated rooms served as the perfect backdrop!
Guests received an invitation setting the stage and requesting that they wear their best little black Audrey dress...and pearls, of course! They were greeted with a mimosa bar and complementary Audrey-style sunglasses. Games included a fun Jeopardy-style trivia game about the couple and "guess how many gumballs are in the jar," invoking those iconic images of Audrey blowing bubbles!
We struck gold at Homegoods in the form of a stretched canvas showing Audrey blowing that very gumball bubble. Placed on an easel, she presided over the shower festivities. Custom cookies were displayed on varying heights of cake stands next to a Tiffany-box cake, draped with frosting "pearls." Another table held a jewelry display and the gifts.
Perhaps the most dramatic element was found in a custom vinyl backdrop of a Tiffany storefront. Instead of "Tiffany & Co." the storefront read "Gracie & Co." What a sweet setting for numerous pictures of the bride with her friends and family!
In keeping with the Breakfast at Tiffany's theme, the menu consisted of a delicious brunch: eggs Benedict, chicken and waffles, fresh fruit, potatoes and assorted pastries. Each place setting featured a little stand with a custom cookie atop it, and napkins were folded to look like large satin bows with a crystal ring in the center. The table centerpiece, a cluster of Tiffany bags and boxes with the bride's favorite flowers--hydrangeas--was visible equally to all guests as we chose to do a square table. It encouraged conversation and worked much better than the typical banquet-style arrangement!
