About Us

A Labor of Love

Every wedding is a labor of love. Gilded Events was born out of two of my great loves: daughters and design. When one of my twin daughters got engaged, we met with several florists and rental companies. With my background in art, interior design and event coordination, It didn't take long to realize that not only would it be more fun to buy our own items, I could probably also plan the whole shebang. After all, a wedding isn't all that different from another fundraiser for 250, is it? (Plus, bonus--no silent or live auctions!)

As luck would have it, my daughter and her fiance found the perfect church and reception venue, and both were available on a Saturday in July -- just 10 months away. Oh. Ohhh, my. All of my skills from past events would be called upon, and at the time I knew very few of the wonderful vendors I now call my friends (and guardian angels)!

 

My daughter chose a theme of blush & gold, and we found a multitude of gorgeous gold mercury glass and crystal items in boutiques and stores all around Minneapolis and beyond. After months of searching and shopping, we realized we had acquired enough items to furnish three or four weddings, not just one! So we decided to start our own rental company, offering brides and grooms some outstanding pieces and a personal touch just not found elsewhere.

Fast forward to the following year when I began to sense that brides needed more than pretty things to adorn their weddings; they needed another "mom" to help plan and make things go smoothly. Thus the planning and coordination aspect of Gilded Events was born. Now our love languages include creating timelines and steaming table linens!

 

My daughters and I have always shared a passion for decorating, entertaining and, specifically, beautiful table design. Holidays around our house are less about food and more about the tablescapes! Our combined degrees in art & design, our writing skills, and experience in the worlds of advertising and printing mean that we can also create original art, assist you in the production of your printed materials, and so much more!

We can help you plan your event from start to finish. We listen, carefully, to your unique wishes and tastes. We can suggest the perfect venues, fantastic vendors (we know ALL the best ones in town!) and decor pieces that will make your heart sing!
